Spouse contracted with Empire Today for installation of engineered wood in living/dining areas, tile in kitchen, bathrooms and entry hall, and carpet on stairs, in bedrooms, and family. Empire contractors damaged glass door in living room; for tile installation, white powder was left all over the furniture in nearby dining room, with cracking grout in kitchen and smeared grout in powder room, and installer punctured pipe under kitchen floor. Carpet in upstairs hall has stretched and appear to not last 5 years. Since spouse was in and out of medical facilities, stepped in to ask Empire to address issues; did not want to talk to me at all. Spouse also tried to get Empire to address problems. Contractors came back to house to say what needed to be done. That was a year ago, with no further contact. Spouse (elderly) who contracted with Empire has died, and I may now need to step in to escalate the matter to state home improvement agency and/or lawsuit through spouse's estate.
