My daughter bought a house with a broken roof truss that had been improperly repaired. A reputable roofer said the job required 2 of his men and a construction contractor, total cost $4700. After an inspection by a home inspector with a roofing specialty, we elected to have it repaired from inside the attic. Darrell Jones of AC Carpentry was recommended on our neighborhood listserv. He came when he said he would (within 2 days) to estimate the job, and a couple of days later to do the work. It took him and a helper 2 hours to actually do the work, for which he charged $500. He was neat, fair, easy to deal with, and explained clearly what had to be done. He explained a minor change he found he'd have to make as the work progressed. He had obviously done this repair many times before. I will definitely use him again for similar or more complex jobs.
