Note: the location of this facility has changed. It is now at 4000 Wisconsin Ave. NW and is about 4+ times larger than it was on Brandywine NW. This creates pros and cons: there is infinitely more equipment and trainers (to be hired at additional cost). There are special programs, such as one for boxing. They have rehabilitated the pool (from the old Sport & Health gym that existed there before and around which this new one was built) and expanded the locker areas and specialty options. However, there is now a huge clientele, the gym is almost always full and certain machines and classes are in high demand. As someone who joined its predecessor gym in the late 1980s, I miss the greater sense of community i had then but do feel that I can get a good workout for a very reasonable price.

All good here but it's a large, sprawling facility, quite busy, and noisy. One can defnitely access the desired equipment and get in a workout. But it often feels like an ordeal rather than a peaceful experience.
