We hired Keil Construction to construct a three-story addition on our Capital Hill row house, and to renovate the existing kitchen. Keil construction was one of the contractors identified by our architect as having the type of experience and skill we needed, and being within our price range. We found that Jeff not only knows his business, he has a very artistic eye. He guided us through both the “big picture” and the details of our job to ensure that the final product is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Renovations are stressful and disruptive and our job was not without its glitches, but Jeff was always responsive, quick to address issues as they arose, and very pleasant to work with, as was his crew. Jeff always looks for opportunities to provide interesting, unique details to his jobs, ensuring that no two are exactly alike. He also has a strong commitment to reducing waste, offering to reuse materials, like flooring and also offering to bring in items that he has removed from other jobs and stored in his warehouse. Having recycled materials like this available for renovations in the older homes in our area is very helpful in retaining the period feel of the space and can definitely add to the aesthetic outcome. Jeff will take items that can’t be reused on the job and that he chooses not to store, such as old but still usable kitchen cabinets or counters, to Community Forklift. This was important to us. We could not possibly be happier with the outcome of our renovation in terms of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. We regularly receive compliments from our guests on the comfort and beauty of our home, and we highly recommend Jeff and Keil Construction.
