Later I asked them to move it again because the salesman had promised when I signed the contract. 2 men came, the main tech just listened while his partner asked me where I want the thermostat installed. I told him, the family room where we spend the most time and next to the the intake valve. He told me I wasn't supposed to install the thermostat by the vent. I told him I read the Lennox installation guide and it is supposed to be by the intake valve. He said nothing. I showed him the location on the wall and said, "I want it here, about 5' high, where it's supposed to be, right?" He shrugged aid, "I don't know." I told him, I know, again because I read the installation book. He is supposed to be a certified tech and obviously knows where the thermostat should be located but wasn't happy about having to come and move it. I asked them to install it in the correct room, in the correct location, by the intake valve and 5' high. Later when I had the air conditioner installed, I was told it is in exactly the right place.
I am a 80 year old, small Asian woman who salesmen and contractors think I know nothing and are less then truthful. This happens too many times. I did not buy my air conditioner from this co. as their quote was $1,700.- more for the same brand and model from another co. and I don't trust them.
