We did not go with a mortgage from Century due to the poor service we encountered throughout the pre-approval process. We asked to come in on a Saturday to speak to someone and go through the process. We were told that the branch manager would not be in, but that we should speak to [X]. Went in on Saturday only to find that X was not there, so person Y sat down with us instead. Person Y was both unfamiliar with the branch location (filling in from elsewhere) and with the mortgage process. Since Person Y was not assigned to that branch, we were sitting in open lobby space while being asked questions about our personal finances (not ideal. We wrote our answers on paper in response). Furthermore, Person Y could not answer questions about Century's mortgage process and made numerous errors with our application (even when just copying text from printed copies), which we had to point out before signing. The "corrections" contained errors as well. Finally, it took longer than expected (maybe 2 weeks when we were told to expect a couple days) to receive a response, and no one from the branch followed up to either ask about our experience or to ask questions about notes that seemed to us to be pretty unclear on the application. In short, we did not feel they wanted our business at all (and their rates weren't any better than anyone else's, either, despite the fact that we were existing customers), so our consideration ended there.
