Cleaned chimney for years and always told me that everything was fine when done. This past fall, did a more detailed inspection and told me that level 3 creosote and couldn't clean. No change in wood amount or type burned. Clearly they hadn't been doing the job properly. Crew was obnoxious, tried to blame me. Claimed hadn't been cleaned last year. I produced receipt from them that proved it had. They were not the least bit contrite, but arrogant. Charge a lot for inspection. Office misled me about that. They now claim that fix involves destroying ceramic liner and replacing with stainless. Want $18000 to to that. This, though they are responsible for the problem.
