When you call to request a repair, they will ask you important questions about the appliance and the problem. This can sometimes let you fix it yourself. They are very helpful.

Have used them for a long time, but last two visits were disappointing. Had frost buildup on freezer ice chute and their repair did not fix the problem. Also had noxious smell coming from left side of gas cooktop burner. The owner, Mark, recommended turning on the cooktop fan, which helped a lot, but he could not find the true source of the problem when he visited, even though all parts were in "pristine"condition. Later, we read the manual and found that there is a drip cup jar under the cooktop into which something had dripped and solidified, causing the odor. We unscrewed it, cleaned it out, and the odor was gone. Surprised that Mark did not know to check this. The tech who usually serviced us retired a year ago. We will probably call another appliance repair company in the future.

he was very honest and gave me a trick for getting the oven up to temperature without any new parts and believes there is a design flaw in this kitchenmaid oven, no replacement needed
