Medallion Security Door & Window vs Pella of Bethesda There are several key differences between the two companies when it comes to the doors that they install. I have both doors installed on my home. I am no expert on doors or carpentry, but I do examine products for quality. The Pella doors are 7 years old and are holding up well. The Medallion Door was just installed, so I am not comparing the cosmetic appearance of the doors. Key differences that I found were that the Pella door frames had to be painted because the outer door frames are made of wood and were not painted from the factory, nor covered in cladding. So the wood frames were looking color faded. I painted them recently. The Medallion wood frames are all covered in cladding, so it is no need to be painted. The Pella door is only wrapped in metal on the outside skin, not the top or the entire door. Pella door uses a thinner metal and has mortise door hinges on the frame and door. The Medallion door uses a thicker metal, and it completely covers the entire door and is folded on the corners. The hinges are only mortise on the frame and not the door. Because of the metal used, it would not be feasible to mortise on the door hinges, a Medallion Rep. stated. The Pella door only uses three inch screws on the deadbolt plate and not the striker plate. The Medallion Door uses three inch screws on both the deadbolt plate and striker plate. I believe Medallion doors are sturdier constructed and maintenance free compared to Pella. I received the same price quoted for balcony door installation from Pella and Medallion. Anderson Doors and Windows, were higher but I must say, I have Anderson Windows installed on my house that are original to the home and the double pane windows are holding up well and they are over 30 years old. TLG 94 Balcony door double pane windows failed, leaving a cloudy appearance and no longer energy efficient. Please note that I compared a front entry door to a balcony door. If you plan on using Medallion Security Door & Windows, I recommend contacting the salesman [Name] Erlin Zno of Medallion Security Doors and Windows [Mobile] (301) 500-4024. Erlin was straightforward and avoided a long salesmen pitch. Tell him, Sean LaGrand referred you. https://www.medallionsecurity.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=12453425267&gclid=CjwKCAjwi-DBBhA5EiwAXOHsGftoq-uBakhrjZbq_BIK8ECiXelQ3TvtzCb9yJgVlKOuhI6bhm9MsRoCMiwQAvD_BwE… see more

The service unfortunately is slipping while prices are increasing.
