I had used John Shorb Landscaping to maintain my irrigation for more than 10 years, after my landscape architect recommended them to install a new irrigation system and some plantings. For a time, I also used them to do gardening/landscaping maintenance services, but their prices increased significantly, so I began doing it myself, occasionally hiring help from local neighborhood gardeners. But I continued to rely on them to maintain my irrigation - it's important to check for leaks and proper operation in the spring and to winterize at the end of each season to prevent pipes from bursting. The price for that kept increasing too but I was ok to pay it because they had installed my system. Unexpectedly in April 2026, when I checked in to ask when the spring start-up would be scheduled, they informed me that they would no longer service my property because I was not getting landscaping services from them as well. I had not gotten landscaping services from them for at least 4 years. Because it was so late in the spring season it put me in a terrible spot to find another company to do the start-up. Though they sent me the name of another irrigation company, they were unsympathetic to the fact that they told me at the last minute. It is especially difficult because they discovered a significant leak the previous fall that they agreed would be better to fix in the spring. Even when I asked them to make an exception to their new policy for just one year to fix that leak, they refused and then did not respond to my messages. I would not recommend this company because their prices are very high for what they provide. Just as important, they were not loyal to me as a 10-year customer and abandoned me at a very inconvenient time.

In addition to landscape design, they do an excellent job in spring and fall cleanup and mulching and trimming. First rate company that I recommend!
