My wife and I recently had our front steps and walkway re-built by East Coast Masons, and we could not be happier in the quality of work, price, and ongoing communication between us and the owner Declan Twohig. He manages a single group of masons and he's onsite the entire time that they are working on the project (with them). So, please feel free to request an estimate from him on the next project you have. You won't be disappointed!

I had high hopes that Declan could repair a garden wall that another mason messed up. His proposal was exorbitant, but he reduced it by a third when I said I couldn't pay that much. In the end, I still paid 3xs as much as I paid my original mason, but his work was superior. However, I won't be calling him for another job because of the cost and because he did some strange things: washed his truck with my hose, left the side of the house covered with dirt from the pressure washer, and sprinkled my bag of mulch over the top of the wall. Why? I had to use a lot of water to clean up after him. I also had a hard time making him understand what I wanted. He wanted to do things his way and not listen. In the end he listened, but the process of dealing with him was a big disappointment.

Excellent job rebuilding our stone retaining wall. Declan was professional, prompt, and clear throughout. The work was precise and artistic -- we were happy that they were willing to reuse the good stone we reserved from the original wall and all for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
