Per Checkbook's advice, we solicited bids from various entities to address what had become a chronic water problem in the corner of our basement, which included mold removal companies, companies offering to tear up our basement and install a sump pump, etc. Dan from Archer Contractors performed a thorough inspection of our house and surroundings. Based on his recommendations, we replaced all of our gutters and downspouts through next Day Gutters (excellent), as did our neighbor, whose downspout was split in the back and pouring water down the wall on the side of or townhouse. We hired Archer to address the exterior walls and drainage. He scheduled the work a few days after we signed a contract. The work was started and completed in 2 days, and included digging a trench around our exterior wall and halfway across our neighbor's property. They coated the walls with sealing material and a protective sheet, compacted the fill-in and graded the properties, in addition to installing underground PVC pipes that deposited water from our downspouts behind the back of our property. We have had a series of historically significant rainfalls in the area this year, a couple of which followed this project. Our basement has completely dried out. Wooden flooring that was damp, squishy or bubbled up water following heavy rain in the past has also dried up. Excellent work. Was a pleasure to deal with Dan and his crew. Highly recommend.
