To keep a long story short I purchased a used lexus rcf 2015 in Jan of 2023 with about 50k miles. Clean maintenance history and no accidents. Fast forward to November 2024 my oil level sensor light comes on while idling for about 15 mins. No leaks found and while im driving the low oil light clears. I bring it to lexus of rockville md to analyze and they state bring it back in another 1200 miles. 1200 miles past (week and half) bring it back and everything is fine. All maintenance for the most part was done at this dealership besides valley plate reseal. Fast forward to Feb 19 2025 oil change done at dealership and my car is at 81,000 miles. Fast forward to March 4 2025 I arrive at work and park and car is idling a bit rough. Take a short drive around the block and by the time i get back to park again car is knocking. Check the dipstick and barely any oil on the dipstick. Top the oil off with one quart of mobil one 5w-30 and baby car out to lexus of rockville dealership. Tech states specifically "your rcf is consuming oil which lead to rod bearing failure. This is normal wear and tear." My response is "this is not normal wear and tear. Brakes rotor tires are normal wear and tire not this." The tech response " you should have asked to get a oil/ engine compression test done." WTF. So I ask the tech "So if I dont know about those tests (engine/oil compression test) or was never given an option to have them done until AFTER the fact my engine was knocking Im still held liable? Tech states "yes." Mind you I just had my last oil change done here at lexus of rockville on FEB 19 2025. So within a two week time span my oil just disappears? lol Never saw any oil leaks on the ground or warning lights for oil low level from the sensor. Lexus of rockville or corporate refused to help in any shape or form. Currently have a trusted family mechanic working on the vehicle (15 lexus rcf) and he states because of the oil lexus of rockville used that is why your engine failed. I checked all my documentation from the dealership and they have used 10 quarts of mobil one 5w-30 every oil change. Only mods to the car were rr racing pulleys, catback exhaust and rr intake heat shield. Nothing over the top and plenty other rcfs running the same mods. Be very cautious bringing your vehicle to lexus of rockville for anything. If you have a trusted third party shop that would be your best bet and just keep track of all paperwork and receipts. One last note this could have happened due to the tech changing the oil when the car was dry. I asked about this and of course they did not take accountability and denied it. Never again will i go to any dealership for a simple oil change. Stay the hell away from lexus of rockville.

First year with this business: solid recommendations, prompt execution and courteous staff. It’s a Lexus dealer so from a cost standpoint it is not inexpensive but we prefer the experience.
