We did our own kitchen mini-makeover this past year. That included replacing our 24-year old Corian countertop. We browsed through the samples available at Flintstone's showroom and, working with a knowledgeable sales agent, selected Uba Tuba marble. Their installation staff took detailed measurements to refine the cost estimate and made helpful suggestions. The installation itself was very smooth. The results look fabulous!

I visited many suppliers to find the particular quartzite countertop that I wanted. I purchased it at another supplier, and Flintstone cut and installed it. Because the slab had a unique pattern of veining (and one blemish)I took a morning off work to go to Flintstone to map out the particular cuts, specifying where each portion would be installed in out kitchen. Once installation was complete, I saw that Flintstone had completely ignored the agreed-upon patterns, and had cut and installed the countertops contrary to my explicit and documented instructions, with the blemish I was trying to avoid prominently displayed in the middle of a counter. I got a song and dance but no good explanation for their screw up, and the owner declined to get us a new slab so we could start all over again. He reluctantly agreed to a price reduction that equaled 10% of what we had paid for the slab. The sink began leaking soon after installation. The (alleged) plumber that they sent claimed that our garbage disposal was defective and would have to be replaced by yet another contractor - a handyman who was not a licensed plumber. We declined his services, and fixed the problem ourselves by tightening the fasteners.
