Outrageously expensive. he serviced 2 gas fireplaces but only moved some embers around, changed the position of 2 logs on one fireplace and put batteries in remote. $450 for 20 min of work.

Capitol Chimney has fast, friendly and efficient business operations in answering calls and scheduling appointments with text reminders. The onsite estimator was very friendly also. However, they wanted $2,300 to install a water heater stainless steel flue liner, whereas another company quoted me $1,200 for the same task. I went with the other company.

Very much recommend this company. Mine was a major job that required the whole chimney structure to be torn down and replaced. My firebox is a prefab that sits on a wooden platform several feet up on the outside of the house. A steel stack rises 25 feet from it to the roof and the whole thing is enclosed by a wooden structure. In my case, water over 40 years got into the structure, flowed to the bottom and rotted out the platform and the joists sticking out of the house supporting it. Could only find two chimney companies that did replacement work of this type and Capitol's bid was by far the best. Job took about 5 days and then a few days wait before the specially made stainless steel cap for the top of chimney to arrive. In total the craftsmanship of the entire project was excellent and all the personnel involved were efficient and friendly. Just to let others know, the main concern was whether the new firebox would fit up snug with the old mantle which it did. Otherwise the mantle itself would have had to been replaced also, a costly item.
