Not many options in this price range, so it's hard to complain too much, but I do wish they had a better class schedule - more classes at various times, more variety, and better instructors. Some instructors are great, but others clearly have little to no formal training in what they teach, and some come off more like drill sergeants than motivating. Plus they only have small weights for classes, and hardly any other equipment for classes, including mats, so you really have to bring your own, which makes it more of a hassle to go. All in all, pretty bare bones. The only thing that really sets it apart is the pool and the aqua aerobics - those are great. also, beware of the personal training hard sell - it's pretty intense.

Other LA Fitness locations we use are fine. Downtown Silver Spring is a pit, with far too many service outages for the pool and equipment.

This facility has a very weak management staff, equipment than has been in disrepair for at least a year and the staff is only concerned if you paid your membership fees. The desk security is very weak, I've seen people walk past the desk and go straight to the basketball court or the locker rooms. Amazingly people use the lockers with locks and have belongings stolen frequently. The staff rarely patrols the upper floor when people sit on the working equipment talking, texting or watching movies on their phones. Certain male staff members feel it's important to flirt with female members. Do not come to this gym if never had experience using weight equipment, no employee will show you the proper way to use it. On the male side, people take showers or use the sauna daily but use paper towels or the hot air hand dryers to dry off, no towels are provided and for the life of me I don't understand why these people never bring their own. Complaints are ignored and there is no way to contact the home office in California unless you are giving them payment options. This gym is only good for the price and only if you are there to stay current with your regular routine.
