I obtained more than 8 estimates for new roof replacement for my 2 story colonial with extended front porch roof. The pricing I received varied widely & most estimates were high end, time consuming sales pitches. I had already researched & chosen my roofing material (shingles) prior to requesting estimates & found Robert from their list of recommended,licensed contractors. He came out to provide estimate within 24hrs of my call, spent time carefully measuring & assessing my roof and wrote up the estimate right then and there. I thought... how could this be when most companies were wasting two hours of my time (upselling & sales pitches), taking days to return estimates, etc. Robert's estimate contained all the info needed.... scope of work, specifics on materials, labor, schedule & an explanation of the potential work (if new plywood needed) & costs. His pricing was very (VERY) fair. I really appreciated his experience & straightforward manner. The day of the job, I had to be out of town unexpectedly & was nervous as I had been burned by a contractor in the past.... with Robert, I did not have to worry. They arrived just before 7am the day of the job & he called before they started work and kept me informed throughout the day(s). No plywood or extra materials were needed (I appreciated his honesty) and he even suggested replacing my porch soffits at a very reasonable price (which were a mess and needed repair).... I could not be happier! The porch soffits, porch ceiling & wrap around are a perfect match with my siding (very old siding...hard to match). In addition, they carefully protected the flowerbeds & yard around the house.... I couldn't even tell they'd been there... no debris (not even nails!) and no damage to my plants! It's been a few years now and I've had zero issues with my roof, it's improved my home's appearance and looks as good as the day it was installed! I wouldn't hesitate to call Robert for another job and/or refer him to others.

e had an extremely positive experience with Robert Pence and have recommended him on our neighborhood listserv. I wish there were a space to mark the price for the work as "Very Fair" which would fall somewhere between adequate and superior.
