Although at times slow to respond to inquiries, the Designer presented suggestions for our yard that resonated for us and planned to be present to guide installation; for these reasons we went with Garden Gate. The installation crew began to make what they felt to be logical, though significant, changes to some aspects of the anticipated design and, unfortunately, the Designer was nowhere to be found—even though we asked to confer with him about changes that were happening. The Production Manger was at times present, but could not get the Designer to appear in a timely manner, and moreover, the Production Manager stated that he could not offer guidance in lieu of the Designer. When the Designer finally showed up on a subsequent day, he was rushed and had the audacity to express concern about meeting schedules (no doubt his next customer’s job start). We wanted a flagstone path to be narrower than the installation team had created, and all the Designer was willing to do was to have the installation team cut stones to narrow the path—the downside being that installation crew’s careful stone layout (larger stones in the middle) become lopsided. The installation crew was hard working but also rushed.

Garden Gate gave me some advice before they came out to look at a problem I was having with water in a stairwell. That advice was crucial in solving the problem. They advised me to contact a specific building inspector to look into the problem. Once the inspection was completed Dan Law came out and evaluated the problem and followed the inspectors recommendations. The job was done in a timely manner and the crew was very professional. Mr Law was engages with the work being done and stopped by each day to answer questions. The problem with the stairwell and water intrusion was solved, plus the area looks so much better than it did before.
