We took our two elderly cats to establish care (on two separate occasions, one cat each time) and saw two separate vets at this location, but we will need to find another vet. We have been to many vets over the years so we are not newbies to this. These vets were not able to handle the cats, they were unnecessarily rough with one of our cats who is a sweetheart at the vet, and they let the other cat who was afraid of them get loose in the room, and then we had to trap her underneath chairs, which also did not go well. Every other vet we have been to has been able to smoothly remove the cats from their carriers, examine them and administer any injections, and smoothly return the cats to their carriers. We also were not pleased with the subpar medical advice. Animal Place was traumatic for our sweet cats and us.

We have been taking our cats there for several years, maybe even many years. They provide excellent service, full inoculations, suggestions, etc. We take our cats usually for a yearly check up. Luckily we haven’t had any accidents or other events that required an emergency visit. They are a helpful, professional staff. They are not cheap. For instance, our last “well baby“ check up was $570. This is for an eight-year-old cat that was in good health and needed it shots plus a fecal analysis to see if she had any parasites. She’s happy, she’s healthy, we love her and what the hell, it’s just money.

I hate giving a poor review, so I will start with this. Routine care is adequate and there are many things they do reasonably well. But, I have been repeatedly surprised by the difficulty of getting a call back regarding a pet health need (vaccine reaction, etc.), getting sound medical advice, and walking out without feeling the need to fact check the vet's advice. Because of this practice, I have spent way too many hours in the last year or so reading up on numerous health conditions and repeatedly joked about becoming a vet for my pet's sake. I hate to say it, but we will be changing vets.
