My Significant Other was in Assisted Living there for 2 !/2 years. He was always satisfied with the care. They were attentive, even though staff short during the Covid times and made many necessary adaptations. In the week of his death, the staff gave constant attention both to him and to us. The ritual after death was wonderful: The Pastor led a short prayer service with friends/staff expressing their feeling for the deceased, then a Guard of Honor along the hallways as the funeral home attendants took the body out of the building. It was very comforting, especially since the funeral will be delayed.

For my Mother so a lot of this is what she tells me. Staff is always nice to me when I stop in or call. They are always helpful. Room cleaning is not always intensive (light dusting and vacuuming). Maintenance staff doesn't seem to be up to snuff. Heater in bathroom has been broken for a year. Called about kitchen sink draining slowly. Fellow came up and said it was fixed. It does drain, but very slowly when fair amount of water is dumped in sink. Food service is slow and many times incorrect at to portion size and what to not bring.

I was in the rehab portion of Presbyterian Homes a few years ago, so my experience may be different than the Assisted Living residents. Staff was very helpful and friendly, just not enough of them. The lack of staffing had men and women working sometimes double shifts, or more than one job. They would sometimes come to work after working at a similar job at another facility. The lack of adequate pay and minimal staffing made it so I would not go back. It's possible the Assisted Living portion is better. I hope so.
