After moving into our mid-century modern house last year, we paid for an expensive chimney cleaning and an estimate of about $30,000 to prepare three fireplaces for conversion to gas. Joe Spoden at Custom Fireplace & Chimney Care inspected our chimneys and assured us that we could safely and legally install a gas insert in two of them for about a third of that price. We were delighted with the work and with our modern fireplace.
