Brandon Miller installed on my well fed water system, a Charger Iron Filter saying that this unit would filter out sediment, remove iron and soften water. He said that was the only piece of equipment needed and it would take care of every thing. At that time, he removed and discarded the previously functioning sediment filters and water softener. Within a short time is became apparent that our water had turned hard. Brandon returned and added Zeolite to the iron filter tank. Zeolite apparently is a material capable of softening water provided it is backwashed with brine periodically.
Unfortunately the Iron filter he had installed did not have this capacity. So the Zeolite was futile and only served to further slow the flow of water. Eventually in order to soften the water, I purchased a new water softener. Brandon installed the softener upstream of the iron filter, which is exactly the wrong place for it to be installed according to both manufacturers of the softener and iron filter. This resulted in a clogging of the water softener after 16 mo. That was when his plumbing error was discovered.

Additionally Brandon had selected the smallest home iron filter available from Charger. It has a water flow rate of only 3 gallons per minute. Far too small for a home with four and one half bathrooms. You can't flush a toilet and try to take a shower. It could never have worked appropriately from beginning.

Brandon's errors:
Although he claimed that he understood the equipment he was installing, He did not.
He was wrong about it's ability to soften water.
He was wrong to add Zeolite to an iron filter that was not designed for it.
He is insistently wrong that about the relative locations of the iron filter and water softener. Both manufacturers disagree with him.
He now refuses to correct his mistakes.
He did not even correctly size the iron filter to this house. it could not deliver enough water from the very beginning.
