We have been so happy with Kingsview and Dr. Grim for our new rescue pup. They gave been patient and understanding with new dognowners and an anxious dog.

Our first appointment at Kingsview with Dr. Elissa Thorndike and we were very impressed with her - our overly exuberant, excitable and generally unruly 1-1/2 year old rescue dog adored her and was as well-behaved as possible for Dr. Thorndike - with lots of treats! Dr. Thorndike immediately sat on the floor with her, gave her lots of love, even during necessary vaccinations, and generally made us feel welcome. Her caring expertise is apparent and most welcome.

Dr. Lock has a great bedside manner. For example, she sat on the floor to examine my puppy instead of putting her on a scary table. Dr. Minger is also very gentle with my puppy. They both took the time to make friends with my puppy at the beginning of the appointment. The exam room has wooden chairs and an end table. The exam table is folded up against the wall, and they haven't needed to use the table at my appointments. I believe that this decor makes dogs less anxious because it looks like a room in a house to the dog. This practice is great in emergencies. I accidentally dropped one of my pills, and my puppy swallowed it before I could pick it up. I called and the doctor immediately reassured me that dogs are prescribed my medicine and the dosage wasn't high enough to hurt my puppy. When my dog injured her paw, they were able to give me an appointment the same day. This practice has very low prices compared to the practice I used for my previous dog. When my dog injured her paw, Dr. Minger examined it and said that he really didn't think it was broken but would do an x-ray if I wanted to be absolutely sure. I thus avoided an unnecessary x-ray. During that visit, I asked him why my puppy was chewing her other paw, and he took a skin scraping, looked under a microscope, and diagnosed an infection. The cost of the visit and prescription medications was $237. The cost to spay and microchip my puppy was $674. At my prior veterinary practice, a very minor surgery cost $1100. The prices at Kingsview are a bargain!
