Got two great pairs of glasses for much cheaper than anywhere else I've been. Selection can be hit-or-miss, but it's worth it to check a few times.

I just recently purchased my first pair of prescription glasses in many years. I went to an ophthalmologist recommended to me by a friend, but when it came time to purchase glasses, he recommended that I go next door to a store that sells the glasses, and also recommended that I buy a bottle of fish oil tablets to help my "dry eyes" to the tune of $35. I decided before doing anything else I'd visit my Costco store in Fairfax because I had other business to do there. To my surprise, the young lady with whom I worked was very prompt, friendly, and easy going and tried to help me with my selection without trying to push any particular product. The price I paid was very reasonable, and Costco was offering a promotion that if I ordered a second pair at the same time the second pair would be discounted by an additional $40 off. I also found out that there is some measurement that should be included on the prescription written by the doctor, but apparently that piece of information is not often included almost requiring a customer to buy from the doctor or his selected outlet. The Costco rep explained that was a common issue, but no problem because they had the equipment to determine that measurement (at no extra charge.) So, I ordered one pair with the regular prescription and a second with progressive lenses. I'm happy to have both because they seem to be better for different circumstances. I definitely recommend Costco. RonM
