I researched a lot of masonry companies and talked to their owners before selecting J. Sanchez Masonry to repair/replace my brick sidewalk plus the attached two-level brick porch with stoop. Not only were they one of the most reasonably priced, but also highly rated in reviews. During the initial estimate, Jose gave me more info than other contractors about what needed to be done and didn't try a "hard sell" at all, to the point of advising me that, whoever I selected, make sure they do "XYZ" in the process. Jose has a finely-tuned team that works together efficiently (he works alongside them as well) and obviously care about their craft. He discovered that the stoop level had been constructed brick-upon-brick, which was not to code and likely contributed to the broken bricks. He replaced that level with a concrete foundation topped by bricks, which looks beautiful, and I'm so pleased! He also did a great job of ending the sidewalk with a small amount of asphalt in such a way that it now merges seamlessly with the driveway, much nicer than before. They also did a thorough job of cleaning up the area after their work was completed. A number of neighbors came over to "inspect" the work and all have asked for his contact info--one already hired him to lay dry stone walls around various trees and garden beds, with great results--really adds to the overall look of the property. I can honestly recommend J Sanchez Masonry and his team for your brick and stone masonry projects.

J. Sanchez Masonry replaced a long retaining wall using an engineered design. Like others mentioned, the owner knew more about masonry than many companies I talked to, and the price was competitive. Others pushed for a cheap segmented wall with a gravel base. J. Sanchez Masonry built what I wanted, a more durable, grouted, rebar-reinforced CMU wall with a proper concrete footing. The 4-person crew worked hard the whole time, and the owner was on site daily pitching in. The job would have been finished ahead of schedule if not for permit and weather delays.

We highly recommend Mr. Sanchez and team. He was responsive to our quote request and provided a very competitive price. He completed the work within the timeframe we requested, and the quality of the work was exceptionally high. The team worked very well together.
