Owner/estimator/painter is the same guy. He has one helper who has worked for him for years. So, there is less risk in letting an unknown or new employee inside your home.

Contracting Abilities: Provided fixed price estimate and a copy of his liability/workman’s compensation insurance in a timely manner. Insurance coverage was on the high side compared to other contractors (better for the homeowner). Delivered in accordance with his firm fixed price bid plus some extras without increasing his bid. Does not nickel and dime you on his cost. Bought the paint and included it in his bid (homeowner tends to buy too much; contractor gets a better price); homeowner picked the color.

Schedule: Showed up per schedule. Coordinated changes in schedule. Got done early and painted an extra room.

Cost: In the middle on price, but higher quality than many.

Quality of Work: Excellent

Painted our home interior immediately following the installation of our new carpet. We wanted to make sure that the paint color worked with the new carpet. There was no damage to our brand new carpet. Covered the floor and stairs prior to painting. No spills.
Excellent preparation: Dropped and re-installed switch plates, outlet covers, and light fixtures and painted underneath without being asked as part of his normal process. Patched nail holes and other imperfections. Made sure the patches were dry before painting. Taped baseboard prior to painting.
Attention to detail. Cleaned up mistakes of prior painter—removed tape strips and paint left on our beams and tongue and groove ceilings.
Extras: Went back and removed door bumpers and patched wall at no extra charge (I forgot to mention this during the initial estimate). Installed door bumpers on door hinges. Tightened door hinges when door did not want to close properly.
