We hired Walter for a bathroom shower and floor tile install. We discussed with Walter the designer's blueprint for the shower tiles and he said it wouldn't be an issue. He would have his "top guys" on it. He sent the JV team instead. We ended up having to redo the entire bathroom because of the mistakes his crew made. Among them: 1. They did NOT use a wet saw to cut tiles, which is industry standard (Tile 101). 2. Ceiling joists were improperly installed and didn't reinforce tiles, resulting in a floating joist. 3. Tile calculations for both flooring (not enough for baseboard) and wall and ceiling (short 22 sq ft) were incorrect and not sufficient as evident by the need for additional tiles to be purchased during construction. 4. Linear drain to be installed a maximum of 2” from the shower wall was not performed as laid out by the design and as discussed. This is visually evident by the placement of the drain 5” from the wall. 5. Shower floor tile (slope) was not grouted properly to industry standard. 6. NOT performing a water test on the tile install, which is industry practice. 7. Shower system and niches location and size do not meet design specification that was discussed and agreed upon. 8. Tiles include chipped, lippage, and design placement are irregular. 9. Walls are not leveled correctly. 10. The ¼” inclination for the ceiling was omitted and not performed as discussed prior to construction. We do NOT RECOMMEND that you use this company for any tile work at all unless you want to lose money and have to redo everything again.
