Seemingly nice practice but three red flags. - Required payment upfront but did not file with Medicare as promised. Their insurance manager and others would not respond to emails/calls. After 3 months I contacted Medicare which expressed concern and opened some kind of investigation. - Strongly encouraged hearing aids based on past hearing tests - said insurance would cover most if not all. A second doctor using the same and updated tests did not recommend aids. I tested a pair anyway, experienced no improvement, and returned them. - Prices seemed high - their consultation fee was more than a test, consultation, and free two week hearing aid test at a highly rated practice, (which promptly filed with Medicare). - Strongly encouraged hearing aids based on past hearing tests - said insurance would cover most if not all. A second doctor using the same and updated tests did not recommend aids. I tested a pair anyway, experienced no improvement, and returned them.

Audiologist Linda Himler is superb. She is professional, extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and friendly. I never feel rushed during an audiological exam.

Ascent Audiology in McLean now Hearing Doctors is incompetently run and lets graduate students perform hearing aid exams without supervision. I was also appalled by their lack of social distancing during the exam as I sat in a 3 foot by 4 foot room with the graduate student on a computer. The manager told me she knew all her staff were ok.
