3 years ago SRR did an amazing job of repointing the brick on my 90 year old home, and repairing the damage where water had entered through cracks in the mortar. 3 months ago, I wanted them to do the same thing to the freestanding garage and back chimney, which I hadn't contracted them to do the first time. Both times were very expensive, but I was willing to pay for it because they did such good work. However, this time, their business practices have deteriorated significantly. They repeatedly lied to me. For example, they said the most expensive part of the $12,000 job would be renting scaffolding to get 4 stories high to the top of the chimney. They rented a lift instead without measuring to see if it could get through my backyard gate - it couldn't - and it damaged my lawn trying to get to the gate. (They did repair my lawn at the end.) Then, they rented scaffolding from a place 4 blocks away. I checked - the scaffolding cost under $200 for the whole week. In small print, the contract states that they expect to be paid the final amount due on the day of completion, even if an inspection needs to be conducted at a later date, leaving no recourse if problems arise. Their billing office called me every single day for payment. Every single day I told them I was in discussion with my contact on a price adjustment for the lift/scaffolding issue. By Friday of the same week, they told me I had to pay in 20 minutes or they wouldn't be able to pay the crew that day! They already had 50% as a down payment. The cost of supplies was minimal, and I'd be willing to bet they didn't pay the crew more than 6 grand for 1 week's work, and that the final payment was all profit. What kind of reputable company does business like that? Bottom line? The quality of the actual work done was very good, but their business practices stink. Avoid them.

Constant delays on a contracted job after putting deposit down. Cancelled our contract and went with another company.
