Our pets have been affiliated with Colonial Animal Hospital in excess of 20 and have not noticed change in culture. The vets, techs, and office staff are beyond description providing nothing short of truly professional demeanor, empathetic and sincere caring, cost effective advice, and friendly attitudes. This practice is "THE BEST OF THE BEST !",

I have used 4-5 different vets in Fairfax County over the past 35 years for my dogs. I was dissatisfied with all the offices for various reasons (mediocre or indifferent staffs; high prices; pressure to buy the more expensive meds, food and other items sold by the vets; poor vet communication/skills and/or service; the local vet office was bought by a national chain, etc.), but when my dogs needed attention, I had to go someplace and even with friend's referrals, I could not find a great vet.
When my last dog started to suffer abruptly, I learned my current vet had retired months before without notifying his clients! Faced with an unknown vet, I decided to roll the dice yet again and I took him to Colonial Animal Hospital and I felt I had won the vet lottery. During my first visit, the vet and staff spent more than 90 minutes caring for my beloved dog, treating him like he was their own family member. At the end, I learned my dog had inoperable cancer and realized I needed to do what was best for him. The advice and empathy my family received from the vet and staff was monumental as we absorbed the crushing reality we faced. I returned the next day and again, the amount of time and emotional support the vet and staff gave me as I spent my final hours with my dog is something that is not taught in vet school and their sincere care for both my dog and me is something I did not experience at any of the previous vets. When I do get another dog, I am relieved to know I will have a compassionate, professional veterinarian and office staff to return to. And for all the care my dog received, I was surprised at the low charges for the two visits. And this office did not charge an arm & leg for my dog's pain meds, either. If you want the best care for your best friend and are dissatisfied with your current vet, try Colonial Animal Hospital.

Dr. Fennell usually cares for our dog, although all the vets at Colonial are knowledgeable and kind. Others on the staff are also polite and helpful.
