Brought my Mini with a P0597(thermostat) and P0304(4th cylinder coil) codes. They diagnosed the thermostat problem as an oil leak requiring replacing a wiring harness: $497. They repaired the 4th cylinder problem by replacing all the plugs and coils: $985. Shortly after leaving the shop, the check engine light re-illuminated with the P0597 code again. So the mechanic probably did not read the codes and addressed what might or might not have been a problem. The thermostat was another $978.

They provided a free loner car which I take as a way to less the guilt they feel for the poor accuracy and charging astronomical prices for routine repairs. Example: oil change is $180+.
