Paintworx was the subcontractor on renovation of three bathrooms. The work was so poor that the contractor was required to terminate the contract and hire another subcontractor. As we had control over subcontractors, I was ready to ask the contractor to terminate the contract, and glad that the contract was terminated before we made the request. Paintworx is a painting company that will perform drywall services. Two out of three recommended Paintworx for painting, but I have no experience. For drywall, however, their workers could not provide a satisfactory finish on even the easy part (new wall) where the corner was not plumb. On a scale of one to five, most houses, and mine, are finished to a level three. Paintworx did not meet this standard and was asked to leave before mudding began. Grout joints were often greater than half inch (1/4" to 3/8" is industry standard I am told. Holes too large for recessed cans. Drywall installed over bumps so large that the drywall split within 72 hours. Gaps of 1/4" vertically between plane of new and old drywall. Drywall completely missing at the floor corner of the tub where it is most likely to become wet. On the plus side, the workers who came to the house were always neat and clean, respectful, and on time. They advised me when they arrived, and when they were leaving. Very good job cleaning up at the end of the day. A plus for courtesy and work ethics.
