They told me I had to come back at a certain time, which was OK. However, my cell phone wasn't working, and I needed to make a (local) call. This completely confused them, and they said they were unable to help. Then I went to get lunch, and at the first restaurant, the hostess was again completely confused by the request. At the second restaurant, the hostess let me use her cell phone. Again, I have no way of knowing whether this is normal. They did take care of it when I came back at the appointed time.

Costs more but you get what you pay for. Excellence extended service contract and over the phone help and free in person training sessions open to the public.

Twice now I have taken Apple products into this shop to get them fixed or find out what was wrong with them -- an iPad and a MacBook Air. In both cases, the "experts" said they could not be fixed and I needed to buy new products. With the iPad, which lost the ability to "hear" me, for some reason it completely fixed itself about a month later! I took the MacBook Air to a computer fix-it place, and for about $75 they bought a new part and it has been going fine ever since. The level of expertise was much lower at the so-called "Genius bar," and I wonder if training has significantly decreased for the staff. Often they seem not much more able than I am!
