Can’t trust VIA, even when VIA provides you with documents that they filled out. Their signed documents are useless. Via was scheduled for fixing of our oven by Consumer Priority Services (CPS) and our refrigerator by Whirlpool. I scheduled VIA to come out at the same time, so they would not have to come out twice for two different service calls. I was told by Whirlpool I would have to pay for the labor to install parts in the refrigerator. The refrigerator parts were cosmetics: draws, brackets and a seal. The technician stated there was no charge for the service call for both the refrigerator and the double oven. He provided me with two service documents that stated no balance due. The next day we got a call and I was told there is a service charge of $120 and that there is a charge to install the parts for $110. I was also told if there are two appliances that the first appliance service call is $120 and the next is $90. We called and talked with the Office Manager, Carleigh, the next day. I told Carleigh what Whirlpool stated, and about the documents. She said before she can schedule the work, I would have to pay them $230. I told Carleigh this is unfair and I would not pay for the service call for the refrigerator, I would pay for the repairs. I asked Carleigh if VIA would repair the double oven, which they have been paid for by CPS. She said they would. I asked to escalate my issue to a manager. Carleigh said she would pass on my request to her manager Tom. On Friday afternoon, I received an email from Whirlpool stating VIA would not repair my refrigerator. I was wondering if VIA also cancelled the service on my double oven. I called VIA; Laura told me that the double oven repair was also cancelled. Carleigh lied to me. VIA told Whirlpool and the warranty company that they no longer service my area. Interesting telling me this after the service person came to my house. I called Whirlpool to find out the parts numbers, within 10 minutes, I received the parts I needed for the refrigerator. I was then told I need to talk with another department at whirlpool to order the parts. Whirlpool is meeting the commitment to send me the parts for free. VIA charges excessive fees and the documents they provide, that are signed by both yourself and the repair person are not stood behind by the company. I wonder if I did not meet the agreement, what VIA would do to me.

While the service technicians are very professional and competent, the scheduling is pathetic. This was the 8th Via service call to finally, we hope, fix our new Maytag washer. So, we have had a lot of experience with Via in the last 11 months. We understand the problems during the Covid period with getting replacement parts and even a replacement washer from Maytag, which also failed within a month. We understand the problems with scheduling technicians under these conditions. However, having waited up to 6 months to get parts or a new unit and having no washer, there should be some prioritization of scheduling. Each time we had to wait another 2 to 3 weeks for the next service call.

My Kitchenaid refrigerator broke in 3 months & is still not working 10 weeks later. Via promised to send a tech out to diagnose the problem in a week. On the day of the appt. they called & said that it would be another week to see the tech. He diagnosed the problem as the Controller. I waited 7 weeks for Whirlpool to finally send the part. Another tech came out & informed me that the controller was fine. I needed a new compressor. The tech said he could come 2 days later to install the new compressor. I explained to him it had to be in the morning as I was not available after 12. We agreed. I then get a notice from Via saying it will be 2-5 for the appointment. So, I call them again and the customer service rep can’t help me, but the scheduling dept. will call me back. It has been 2 hours, no call back from scheduling. No one at Via seems to care that my refrigerator hasn’t worked for 10 weeks Via provides warranty service for Whirlpool, so I do not know about pricing.
