Shanco did a first-class job replacing my 30 year old garage's roof. They started the job when promised, finished in a day and even came in a little under their estimate in the final bill. Everything from my end was done online, including estimate, approval, contracting and payment. Shanco's rep made helpful suggestions regarding additional venting and replacement of an adjoining shed roof and still came up with an estimate that was competitive with three others. Give them a shot at your job.

We sought 3 bids for replacing the roof on our townhouse. All 3 bids were within range of each other, but Shanco's was the most comprehensive and thorough in telling us exactly what they planned to do, what they recommended and what their warranty was. We had to coordinate with our solar panel company to remove the panels and store them. Shanco was relatively easy to work with in scheduling the time of their installation. The roof work itself was completed quickly and professionally. They also made a helpful adjustment to one of our gutters. And because our next door neighbor contracted with them for their own roof replacement at the same time, we both saved a small amount on the price. When the work began, there was one supervisor who spoke English, but he left fairly early and the rest of the crew spoke only Spanish so it was difficult to communicate when we had a question or concern. We noted that, at the end of the job, they had a person walk the grounds with a large magnet to pick up any roofing nails that might have scattered on the ground, but that did not work as well as we would have liked. For days afterward, we were finding stray nails. And some of the crew were not careful around our flower gardens; They had covered bushes with a tarp, but afterward, many flowers had been broken off and there were stray bits of old roofing hanging from higher tree branches. When we pointed these things out, Shanco knocked $100 off their bill to compensate (probably not enough, but at least they made the offer without complaint). Then we got the bill. We were pleasantly surprised that it was about $2,000 less than we had been quoted. But we knew better than to get too excited. About a week later, they called sheepishly to let us know they had made an error in the bill. Not really a problem -- it gave us an extra 30 days to make the final payment. All in all, Shanco did a good job at a very fair price. We have no hesitation recommending them.

Shanco just completed our roof replacement yesterday. We are thrilled with the results and give them 5 stars in every area. We are usually very thorough in researching firms when we have major work done on our house, and always get at least 3 or 4 estimates. This is the first major job we have ever had done where we got only one quote, and used that company. Several of our neighbors had gotten new roofs with Shanco in the last month. They were all very satisfied, as are we, and Shanco's Wash Checkbook ratings were high, so we decided to use them straight away. The staff were fantastic -- a big thank you to Steve Harmon, the sales manager, Alejandro Alvarado, the on-site project manager, and Mario, the crew chief. Steve gave us lots of info about options during the first meeting. His shingle color suggestion ended up looking amazing. The large crew showed up exactly on time, and worked incredibly hard all day. We were especially grateful that they took such great care with cutting out our 3 old skylights and installing the 3 new ones, that we now do not need to hire a carpenter to do repair work inside the shafts. They also took great care to protect all of our landscaping on all sides of the house with huge tarps and did a 100% perfect clean-up when they were done. The final cost, including a lot of plywood sheeting to replace rotten wood we didn't know we had, was just what we had expected. Communication with the office and on-site staff was extremely timely. Overall -- we could not be happier with how the project turned out and recommend them very highly to anyone who is in need of a new roof. Not only will our house be better protected from the elements, but it also looks fantastic!
