A.D. White is probably a fine choice for standard plumbing work, with decent pricing. But he was not good at creative thinking to address plumbing problems, and his quick default for any problems with faucets was to recommend replacing the faucet completely rather than just repair the existing one through installing new internal mechanisms and the like. One of the main reasons we hired a plumber was to get our Toto toilets working properly again, as our own efforts to replace the internal workings did not work well. White insisted on using only Toto parts (which might have been the right thing to do) but he failed to install and adjust them to get the toilets to flush properly and completely as low-flow Toto toilets are supposed to do and as ours did before we replaced the internal works that were wearing out. He seemed to be following the strategy of increasing the amount of water used per flush to the maximum, rather than adjusting the water levels in the toilet and making other adjustments. So our Toto toilets now have new Toto mechanisms but still don't work properly, and now use more water.

My toilet wasn't flushing properly. Another plumber had said the toilet would have to be replaced. Andy looked at it and could tell immediately by the way the water exited the tank that something was blocking the flow. He popped the tank off and extracted a plastic disk that had been part of some long-ago replaced flush mechanism. The toilet was back in service in a few minutes and at a very modest cost.

Charged me $205 an hour as opposed to quoted hourly rate of $84 an hour per your Consumer Checkbook Website. Assistant was learning on the job with owner. Took too long to complete work. Left a mess of sanding a wall which owner denied, which damaged wood floors. We had to be clean up.
