I had trouble finding a roofing firm that would inspect a flat roof on my house. Jack's Roofing came out as promised, did some minor water proofing, and gave me good advice about care for the roof.

Wow! Jack's is the only roofer we'll ever use. Our asphalt roof on the back needed to be totally replaced and some of the slate shingles on the front (previous owner's idea!) needed to be replaced. The house had developed two leaks, one on each side. The metal that covers the point of the roof and some of the flashing around the dormers needed to be replaced. We got 5 different bids. The difference between the top bid and Jack's price, including the metal repairs was $53.000 (NOT A TYPO) for the back roof for the same Asphalt shingles and identical materials. The only difference between the highest and lowest was that the high bidder would provide a port-o-potty.) About te three other bids: One was $24,000 less than the highest bid, one was $21,000 less. The other wanted to take off the slate and replace it all with asphalt shingles, which we didn't want to do. None of the roofers could give bid on for the slate repairs because, until the bad slates are removed, it's impossible to know if there is rotting wood, where a leak originated. Jack's did the job. Since then, we've had some intense rainstorms with no leaks. They took off all the old shingles, replaced the flashing, made repairs to the wood, laid barrier material, and put on the new roof using CertainTeed shingles that were included in their bid. The slate roof repair included removing and replacing a patch of water-soaked wood, replacing worn-out 125-year-old flashing. installing new slate along the edges and slate broken shingles with perfectly matching Vermont slate cost about $2,000. Everyone in the company was helpful and nice. The whole experience and the result was A++++++++

Of all the estimates I got they were the least expensive. Very easy to deal with and very prompt.
