Recently I took a silk garment in to have the waist repaired and the hem shortened. I picked it up as planned, and was charged the amount I was told these alterations would cost. The next morning I tried on the pants to see if they fit- they did, but as I took them out of the plastic cleaners bag I noticed a thumb sized bleach mark on the upper, inner leg of the slacks. This was a silk dress outfit I planned to wear 2 days later to my daughter's wedding. I was horrified! I returned immediately - felt the owner was waiting for me! He immediately began a defense before even hearing or seeing the problem. There was no resolution since both he and his wife denied it was of their doing. I had had this outfit cleaned about 8 years ago, and it has been hanging in my closet, in the cleaner's wrap ever since. At no time has it been around bleach. Plus I had tried on the outfit twice to check the fit and desirability of wearing this again. I KNOW there was NO STAIN WHATSOEVER! This woman had been recommended to me my 2 different people. There was never a word of sympathy, understanding or commiseration. The woman doesn't communicate well in English- I have no idea if she understands much English. I think the business has been there for years. I won't be going back!
