I made my appointment with Benware termite control and someone from Infestation Control arrived. Benware must have been bought by Infestation control. Despite only seeing termites in my mulch, the guy acted as if it was a much larger problem. Since the mulch is in front of a 600 sq ft deck, I asked if we would see an indication of termites in the deck before we would see it in the house. His response was that "you can't see underneath the deck". When I told him I had just replaced the entire deck floor and I did not see any termites, he said "you wouldn't necessarily see termite damage to the deck first". Then he provided one option to drill holes around the entire perimeter of my house - including THROUGH the deck and concrete steps/driveway. I suggested that since the deck floor is screwed in, I would probably remove the decking before putting holes in the deck. He said "that would be great!" Bottomline: wanted $1500+ for the service, which he reduced to $1300+ when I said that was too much. He only suggested the one expensive service because he said that is the only option that works and "he would not consider any other service because he didn't want to ruin his reputation." Then he emailed me a bill for $125 for the estimate - waste of $125!

I had this company out yesterday to discuss my rodent problems....inside and outside. My neighbors have bird feeders and my other neighbors raise chickens. I have rats running around my yard in the daylight and mice sneaking around the kitchen at night. Yes!! This is a house of horrors! Jim came out and was very professional and pleasant. He got right down on the floor and searched for mice evidence. He went outside and walked around the yard where rats had been observed. He recommended bait boxes for both indoors and outside. He said that bait boxes should take care of both rodent issues. I am hoping that it does. I can't rate the effectiveness of the service yet. Jim will return in three months to check and let me know. I would highly recommend this company if Jim does the inspection.
