Turns out they charge about 100% more than is conscionable for brake work, and recommended work I didn't need. Never going back, unless for an absolute emergency with a tire. I'm better informed now about brakes, and had panicked at what turned out to be a stuck caliper, not worn brake pads. I needed maybe one, not all four brakes done.
