My last appliance purchase from Lowe's was for an air condition for my bedroom. It scanned with the wrong price at checkout and I had to wait for about 10 minutes for a worker from the appliances department to come to the register. When the worker finally came up, she checked the item and then had to go back to appliances to check the price. That took about another 10 - 20 minutes! Why didn't the worker at the register give the appliance worker the item (make and model) info on the phone when he first requested her to come up? It could have saved her a trip and me some time. Then she tells me the price it rang up is correct. We both checked the app and she said I was looking at the wrong air conditioner and showed me the differences with the model numbers. I apologized and thanked her for her time, but it didn't make sense to me because the pictures were identical. I was getting ready to pay the higher price, but luckily double checked the bar code label and both model numbers of the items we were looking at in each of our apps were printed on the bar code label. I pointed it out to them and they charged me the lesser price, but it was a lot of wasted time. Then I had to wait about 3 weeks for my brother to install it for me (because I was just getting over surgery for breast cancer). The next day I got to actually see it out of the box and it didn't look the same as the item that was pictured on the box, plus the model number on the unit itself, has a couple extra digits/letters. I called Lowe's and GE and they both told me it's the same item that's pictured on the box and sometimes the model numbers do have extra digits/letters. What (I was thinking to myself)??? To make it even worse, it doesn't cool my bedroom down enough to my liking (and yes, my room is smaller than what it's supposed to actually cover). I have to deal with it because I can't ask my brother to take it out, help me take it back to the store, get another one and then wait another 3 weeks so he can put it in for me again. I didn't get the extended warranty because the last warranty I purchased from Lowe's (two-3 year warranties for a washer and dryer and yes, both are from GE), my washer only fills up half way with water and Lowe's sent a 3rd party company out to fix it (even though at a different purchase when I was asked if I wanted the extended warranty, Lowe's told me they send out Lowe's technicians, not a third party vendor), they told me I didn't maintain the washer properly and it's because I overfill it with clothes, so the 3 year warranty I purchased is now void. How can anyone tell (without actually watching someone do it), they put too many clothes in a load of wash? Also, there's mildew or something growing in the inside of the middle tube where the fabric softener goes that I had to point out to the warranty guy 3 or 4 times, and they neglected to do anything about that either. I am done buying GE products and I am done shopping at Lowe's.
