I was so pleased with the saleswoman who had originally taken my order for an LG washer, dryer and refrigerator that I attempted to call their local headquarters number listed for exactly that reason. They had no idea why I was calling and told me to call the store. The "Appliance Manager" was excited over my call, "because we do not get many positive calls, I am going right back now and tell her!" I would prefer that it was officially noted on her record. "Oh, don't worry, this is just as good!" When the saleswoman showed me The top loading washer, so questioned how deep the tub was and told it was not a problem, because when connected the tub floated higher. I had to purchase the reinforced hoses and a special vent for the dryer (special code). I had just purchased new hoses $30 for my old washer. No problem, just return the new ones in their package to The store for a refund. The delivery date was delayed by several weeks, because one item was not available. I had measured the areas where they were to be installed and everything was more than adequate. They had already had the new hoses on the washer when they delivered it and I told them that I was to return them. "Too late, they are already installed now. I said, that I wanted the ones from my old washer. Too late, it's already on the truck." I said you didn't install the new vent kit on the dryer that I paid for and was told that it must be installed because of code? "Yours is just as good." Which was an old corrugated hose type. They had removed the old refrigerator and I had all of my food in coolers. The new refrigerator would not fit through the kitchen entry way. I said you took the other one out why won't this one fit? They could not remove the door on this model. I would have to widen the entry and reschedule for a new delivery. You have my old refrigerator! "Sorry." Like hell I am rescheduling! I got a hammer and a chisel and started whacking the moulding off of the entry way. They just stared at me in shock. They finally took over and said, "You know we are not supposed to be doing this, we could get in trouble?" Well, that makes three of us, because I shouldn't be doing this either. I tried the washer, the tub is 31" deep. I am 71 yrs.old and handicapped, my arm is 28" long. I read the instructions and could not find anything about the tub rising, and I had to get a step stool and bend into the machine to remove the clothes and finally had to get a "reacher" to get everything out. I called LG to find out how to make the tub rise. They said it didn't rise. I explained my situation and asked how am I supposed to get the clothes out? They said that they would make a note of it, regarding their next design. How was that going to help me now? "Sorry! Is there anything else I can help you with today?" Yes, they did not put on the special dryer vent kit that I had to purchase and you instructional days that if it is not on it voids the warranty. " That is correct. You will have to talk to the store where you purchased it." Thanks for all of your help. Just remember, if you are watching or reading the news and find that the remains of an elderly woman were found, after falling inside a LG washer, while trying to retrieve her wet clothes, it was me.
Son was visiting, and took me back to store to speak to the appliance manager, regarding hoses, vent, and washer. three female associates tried to reach inside washer floor model; all agreed that it seemed very deep and none could touch the bottom of the tub. The manager finally showed up. He was flip, condescending and arrogant. He said, "We do not take back washer returns." If you want to return it, then YOU will have to bring it back to the store." How exactly am I supposed to do that? "I guess you will just have to hire someone. I have said enough. I will not never enter that store, again. My biggest regret, due to health problems, I did not report it to my credit card company right away.

very frustrated with way they manage delivery and installation. the installation was flawed with the dishwasher not level. The installer said it was not right and that i should ask for a new machine but he wouldn't take it back, home depot and manufacturer wouldn't listen. finally had to have someone come out and fix it -- hopefully fix works -- was not happy with the way this was handled by Home Depot, the installer or the manufacturer

Purchased a high efficiency washing machine in May.
Sales transaction was easy and smooth. The sales person and Appliance Department Manager were helpful and responsive.
Those were the good aspects.
Now for the less satisfying and frustrating aspects of purchasing durable appliances.
There ends up being too many layers of responsibility and less emphasis on accountability.
Home Depot's role is basically, make the sale.
All appliances are handled by a warehouse operated by GE. So if there is a problem, Home Depot has little to no responsibility. GE warehouse assumes responsibility of damage along with the Delivery service. Of course the Delivery is done by a third party contractor. You have 3 layers to deal with each with limited roles and responsibilities. Note, Home Depot does not have(own or control) a warehouse of appliances. The warehouse is owned by GE. Hint, another layer. This GE warehouse handles ALL the brands, LG, GE, Maytag, Whirlpool, etc. In my case, it took three attempt to get delivered a washing machine that was not damaged. I send the damaged washers back. Each time you send an appliance back it takes at lease a week to get a new one and get on the delivery schedule. So we waited at least three weeks without a washer. Do Inspect appliance before delivery truck leaves; once you sign for it, the appliance is yours. Next time, I will look for a retailer that has more control over the process end to end.
