On March 17, 2011, the battery on my 2006 Honda Accord was dead. I jump-started it and took it to Glen Echo Exxon, based on WCC's recommendations. I asked them to charge the battery and test whether it's able to hold the charge. When I returned two hours later, I learned for the first time that the bill totaled $66.75, purportedly for testing the entire electrical system. I complained about the exorbitant amount, saying that I had asked only for a battery charge, which costs $15-20 later. But the cashier would not relent so I paid the exorbitant amount. But when my wife drove the car away, she found that the radio and CD player did not work. She returned the next day and asked the same mechanic to restart the radio and CD player. My wife gave him the code numbers, but after trying once or twice, he said the radio battery may be dead and we would have to take the car to Honda. My wife called a Honda dealer and learned that restarting the car radio and CD player was a simple matter of turning on the motor and radio, then punching in the appropriate codes. I then tried that method and the car radio started right away. I can only conclude that Glen Echo Exxon doesn't deserve your recommendation, either for quality of service or price. (I know there was a good mechanic there two years ago, but he is gone now).== Aaron Epstein, 4436 Albemarle St., NW, Wash DC 20016. Email: aajacks@starpower.net

After asking them to troubleshoot car problems I was given an estimate for a repair that was unrelated to the problem I described. Didn't adequately address original problem.
