We are in the new addition completed in 2016 and have been residents for two years. We are delighted with TR. Haven't encountered any residents in either the original or the new wings that are not pleased. Can not understand negative reviews.

This place has positives you just need to access, will it work for you over time. Does it meets your needs now and in the future? Understand the costs and your limitations living in a CCRC. What happens to your move in fee?-What do they do with YOUR money? Why does it take so long to get it back should you move/die? Is the amount you pay monthly, equitable? Do you have a say when they increase charges? What happens if the facility goes bankrupt? Are you listened to? TimberRidge at Talus(TR) has assisted living/Memory care and Nursing care attached to it under the heading Briarwood (BW)- TR/BW is a CCRC Read the article that Consumers checkbook has created. In evaluating, look beyond the view or the friendliness of marketing staff to assess the entire living facility and whether it meets your needs. Whatever you are told, make sure it is in the contract. Know what the contract says. Do you have any say whatsoever? Find out about who heads the committees in TimberRidge/Briarwood and ask them questions(if possible) Check WACCRA for information What incidental charges do they want? Maintenance? to put a picture up(cost?) clean carpet? what does the weekly 1 hour housekeeping do? What happens if you need someone to help you because of a fall in your apartment as a resident? Prospective tenants and their families should know what the staff turnover is! Know that at many of these facilities, such as assisted living services cannot be tailored to a particular need. If you do not fit into the services they offer or they find reasons that you do not, you are out, and may need to transfer to somewhere else (read your contract carefully) My parents were sent TWICE to other nursing care facilities in Bellevue as Briarwood was full. They were not given an Assisted Living room until 1.8 years after the request was made and we had to hire a caregiver to be with her. These are people that had lived at TR since 2008, paid an inordinate joining fee and monthly fees as well. How do you move from location to location? The CCRC does not help you-At 90 are you cognizant enough to arrange the move? Look at the different units in Assisted living and Memory care and Nursing Care - What if TR/BW want to give you a small unit and you need a larger unit? (light or have a cat or ?) Parking: Is there enough parking spaces for friends/family to visit- Who parks in the few spaces that are available. What happens if all the parking spaces are full (Is the answer is in the contract) And lastly if TR/BW will not follow the contract what are your resources for help?
