We worked directly with Ayaz Zaffar, who I believe is the owner of the company. Our first impression was that he would be congenial, knowledgeable and responsive. Very soon we found him to be dishonest, unreliable, and passive aggressive. He wrote a contract -- which we signed -- that had a cost for the entire project: rear stairs, patio, grading of yard, fencing and new driveway. The contract had line items showing costs for each of the various parts. After we signed, he said he "forgot" to include various expenses, which would cost around $4,000 more than the total amount we agreed to. He never shared final detailed plans/layouts. When we spoke about plans, he didn't take notes. We had to chase him down to nail down important details, such as ensuring that new rear stairs wouldn't block access to an exterior electrical outlet on the house. His intent was to put stairs in such a way that would entirely block that outlet. He promised he'd start work multiple times and no one ever showed up. When workers did arrive, they often were not sure of the details of what they were supposed to do. Luckily my husband works from home and could direct them. Ayaz left an earth mover unlocked, sitting in our backyard for 3 weeks - and then we noticed that he'd left the keys in it! That dangerous liability issue -- combined with work half done and abandoned -- was the last straw. We tried to get out of the contract but he would have owed us money from our initial deposit, and he refused to give it back. We found that the only way to get him to finish the job was to threaten legal action (which we were seriously considering by that time). There are many more details of other failings...too many to list. In the end, the work itself was fine but the process to get there was a nightmare, and cost us much more in time, money and mental health than if we'd gone with nearly anyone else.
