Excellent service, high cost. I was able to get an appointment within a day of calling, and the repairman was extremely pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and was on time. (And he didn't leave any mess, which I consider a bare minimum when rating services, but most companies don't.)

We were connected with Landers because they purchased the phone number for Mike's Appliance Repair when they bought his business. This was our first experience. Landers responded promptly to a service call for a dishwasher in our rental unit and charged us $170. They told us the electronics were fried and it was better to replace the unit even tho it was only 3 yrs old. They sell and install appliances. The sales rep quoted us a price of $725 for a Series 3 Bosch but emailed info for a Series 1. When we asked about the discrepancy, the sales rep gave us a nonsensical explanation that the mfg had rebranded the Series 3 as a Series 1 because it had upgraded the Series 3. The all-in quote for delivery, installation and removal of the old appliance was about $600. This included a $25 rebate because we had paid $170 for the service call. The technician provided useful information about options to look into. The sales rep's unclear explanation about the Bosch unit he recommended caused us to lose confidence. Sales reps we spoke to at appliance stores nearby did not support his suggestion of an entry level Bosch model for a rental unit. Landers all in quote for a replacement unit also seemed unreasonably high to us. We will not be using Landers in the future. We ended up buying a Maytag open box unit from The Discount Appliance Store and taking care of installation and removal of the old unit ourselves. The electronics are on the front of the unit instead of the top which may help protect them from steam released by the unit. It also has a food chopper instead of a filter that needs to be cleaned out regularly. We purchased a $36/yr extended service plan from Maytag.

1. Cost. Igniter replacement $768.67. My guess much too high: Service call $169.95, no portion of which offset cost of repair. Part was not on truck, so a second call was required. Labor charged for repair call was $318.75. This was a book rate, not computed on hours actually spent to repair. From Tech's ringing of doorbell, R&R igniter, to departure of truck, 37 minutes. Cost of igniter reasonable. 2. Timeliness. 6 days from service call to repair: Tech lives in Montgomery County. Part had to be shipped to him. (Tech said that Landers would not let him pick up the part available locally.) Scheduling to repair happens when Tech has part in hand.
