I cannot recommend this company, which recently bought outJaffe Electric, a company I have used in the past. Since then, I engaged Jaffee for a number of small jobs, primarily to increase the lighting on a stairway that has a shaded area on the critical last two steps before the sidewalk. We followed their advice as to the type and locations of fixtures that would be needed. The company did not show up as scheduled, and when I called they said they didn’t receive the needed materials on time, but they neglected to tell us. When they did show up as rescheduled, it was almost three hours late. On one of the smaller jobs, the technician used a plastic outlet plate instead of the contracted-for metal plate. But worse than that is the installation of the outdoor lights did absolutely nothing to throw more light on the area. Obviously, you can’t test the throw of light during working hours but we relied on their advice. The situation wound up no better than before we contracted with them.

I have been so impressed by the Michael Bonsby company since my first meeting five years ago. I wanted to put a HVAC unit in my old house built in the 1860s with ducts. I had five companies come by and all said they worked in old houses and could create a system. All then said they could not do it as I wanted. But Michael came in, he is a real system designer and he made it work. We now have central air for the first time in this home's 150-year history and we have extra heat to our old oil system. His service technicians make sure everything is in tip top shape during twice a year service calls. Their prices are fair--but the service is excellent. Technicians show up on time and check everything. I wish all of the respective contractors that do work in my home performed at a similar standard.

The main "ingredient" in the rating is that we have had, and continue to request, a specific Technician. He does an excellent job of checking the system and explaining how the system is performing.
