We had a good experience with Air Experts as related to regular maintenance, but when our heat pump broke down, it unfortunately turned into a months-long process without full resolution. Probably much of the blame belongs on sub-par Carrier tech support and supply chain issues, but unfortunately we eventually had to switch to another HVAC company that was expert in fixing Carrier mini splits. To Air Experts' credit, they only charged us for some of the labor hours they put in. However, the new company was able to diagnose the issue in less than an hour and fix it as soon as a part came in a week or two later.

Mr. Stern’s Air Experts installed a Bryant Evolution heat pump in our house in January 2023, which until then had relied on a clunky old oil boiler for heating. I turned to this company because it has a stellar reputation both on Google and Consumer Checkbook. Mr. Stern and his crew proved they fully deserve it. Because the house is pretty old, we had to upgrade the wiring. Though it took a few months for different reasons, they waited patiently and kept their estimate/offer without even asking for a down-payment. The estimate described the machine in detail and listed separately what they would do and what they wouldn’t. This was the most detailed estimate of three we got. In addition, Air Experts offered the best price and the longest warranty (3 years). Mr. Stern explained well what we can expect from heat-pump heating and cooling. He gave us two options – a basic less expensive machine and more advanced but more costly one. When I asked for a machine between these two options and none could be found, Mr. Stern lowered the price of a more advanced heat pump significantly. The installation itself was well organized. The crew of four installed the outside unit and air handler in the attic expertly, indeed. They did some additional work we requested, adding a vent in the master bathroom (which didn’t have any), covering the whole-house fan opening in the attic and sealing some pipe leaks in the basement. Also, they installed an additional thermostat for the oil boiler to serve as the source of back-up heat during freezing temperatures outside. The communication with Mr. Stern and his office was easy. He or his wife, who runs the office, always return calls promptly. Both are very friendly. At times, my wife and I felt as if we were friends of Stern’s family rather than customers.
