We called to have our Carrier attic heat pump and Trane basement/first floor gas furnace/AC with it's attached April Air humidifier serviced. We also asked to have a new Ecobee Essential thermostat (purchased by us online) installed for the heat pump. We let them know this was not an emergency (though we'd been having issues with the upstairs thermostat for quite a while), and yet we got a "next day" appointment from them. I would recommend Evercool with five stars, and the two technicians, Chase and his assistant Gavin are the primary reason. I'll should add that the service ended up being much more expensive than we anticipated, but that it was great service, and very thorough. The unexpected expense was due to needing 2 pounds of refrigerant added to the 5-year-old Carrier heat pump -- at $165 a gallon. That was a major surprise, but we have no doubt it was needed and are glad to have the heat pump (with new thermostat installed at our request) serviced. The first floor and basement gas heater/air conditioner and an April Air humidifier attached to it were serviced by the techs as well. And all of this was done although they arrived about a half hour before the end of the service window we had been given. When I asked about that, they let us know they'd been held up by a previous appointment that was unusually complicated. In spite of what must have been a very long day for them, they were professional, courteous, and answered every question we asked. They got the new thermostat set up, online and working for us, and all the service completed though it must have been well passed the time of their typical working day. (?) I noticed today that all the leaves in the heat pump's outdoor unit were cleaned out (no tech has ever done that for us, even when it was requested by us as part of maintenance).
