Tax year 2020 was my first year with Shannon & Associates. There had been 2 previous acquisition of firms. First Schneider & Kobata was acquired by Hale & Associates, then Shannon & Associates. I appreciate that all the prep work is done on-line & we're able to scan documents onto a secure server. Previously Hale & Associates had sent a letter saying costs may be adjusted if the higher standard deduction resulted in no itemizing. That never happened, & under Shannon & Associates the cost increased despite using just the standard deduction. Other than returning the completed tax return, there is no communication on questions I've posed in the questionnaire. I am planning to use a different firm this year.
